Presenting Practice Tips

The big day is fast approaching.

Some tips for rehearsing in these all important final days:

  1. Practice as though you are there
  2. Stand with your back to the wall
  3. Hold your note cards in your hand but try not to refer to them. Refer to them only when the prompts in the Presenter View fail you
  4. Do this several times
  5. Once you are ready, walk across the room and put down your note cards
  6. Now run through it again... and again... and again

You will never wish you had practiced less!

Remember:
  • You are telling a story
  • Connect with your audience
  • If you really forget a point, IT IS OK! Nobody knows what you PLANNED to say
  • If you remember later, throw it out casually (WITHOUT RETURNING TO THE SLIDE)
  • Make your final point, your BIG takeaway clear and short
  • Try and enjoy yourself. It is contagious.

Making a presentation? Don't forget the Principles of Design
